Today I have the pleasure of inspecting possibly the most dangerous, certainly the dumbest furnace install I’ve ever seen.  If you look at the air intake and exhaust for this high-efficiency furnace they have been swapped.

It is raining INSIDE this attic

This is causing soaking wet exhaust from the furnace to vent into the attic.  There is so much water vapor in this exhaust it was raining inside the attic.

extreme condensation

There’s water on every single framing member inside the attic, the loose-fill insulation is soaking wet also.   This is going to take a long time to dry out properly. This has the possibly releasing carbon monoxide, nitric oxides and mold spores due to this significant water in their home.

This condition went on for 5 years before it was discovered! This furnace guy was fired after the buyer complained about this install and rightly so. He’s lucky he didn’t kill anybody!
