Spring time is when ants are likely to invade our homes. The most common household ant around here is the odorous house ant. They like human food and can be a real nuisance. Here is how to control them.

Borax and Sugar Balls
Ants love the sweet taste of sugar but they don’t love borax. It kills them, so what’s to love about it? Make this handy ant repellent with a combination of the two.
– Add 1/2 cup of white sugar and 1.5 teaspoons of borax into an empty jar.
– Add 2 cups of boiling water, and stir until the mixture has dissolved.
soak cotton balls in the mixture and leave them out for the ants.

In addition to using chemical control, keep the home free of food debris, exposed stored food, or pet food. Keep counter tops and appliances free of grease or anything these ants might feed upon. These steps will help discourage indoor foraging.
